Bike Trail

In July 2026 we unveiled a brand-new Bike Trail. Created with the support of the Friends of Folkestone Academy (FFA) charity, the Bike Trail gives pupils a safe, exciting space to build confidence, develop new skills, and stay active. 

The facility was launched with a series of coaching sessions led by experienced coaches from Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club before the track was officially opened by Gareth Norman, a former world downhill cup racer. Academy staff have also undertaken MTB training to widen pupil access in break and after-school sessions whilst also developing pupil’s cycling skills.

As a school we hope the bike trail will encourage pupils to consider active travel options and improve their health and well being.

Friends of Folkestone Academy

Friends of Folkestone Academy (FFA) supports both Folkestone Academy and Folkestone Primary.

FFA raises money throughout the school year and gives grants for items and services to enhance children’s education that are not covered by funds from the government.
