The purpose of the PSHE curriculum is to provide knowledge and understanding of safe and and healthy relationships based on respect. This is to encourage the development of safe and healthy relationships throughout life. The subject is designed to help children from all backgrounds build positive and safe relationships and to thrive in modern Britain.
In term 1 students explore the topic of 'being me in my world'. This enables students to learn about managing the risks of online and offline behaviour, alongside how to be safe online. Social media can have a profound impact on young people in today's society and students will be learning how this can impact their lives both positively and negatively.

Term 2 - Celebrating differences
To mark the start of Term 2 we began our celebrating difference topic with a specific lesson on organised crime and coercive friendships.
Term two will include topics such as Equality, diversity, and discriminations. The students will be able to explore the legislation surrounding discrimination and the Nine protected characteristics.
Please see a sample of our specifically planned lesson on unsafe friendships and County lines.
