Folkestone Academy underwent an Ofsted inspection in May 2026.  

The Academy was praised by Ofsted inspectors for its welcoming and inclusive ethos and the way that it offers a high-quality education for all its pupils.

The inspectors were full of praise of our school, saying:

• "Pupils get along with each other and have positive relationships with staff."

• "Staff maintain high expectations for pupils' behaviour... In lessons, pupils are generally attentive and keen to learn."

• "Staff understand where pupils may have barriers to their learning... These pupils receive well-tailored support."

• "Close working relationships between the school, parents and external agencies ensure that effective support is put in place."

• "Pupils in the specially resourced provision for pupils with SEND benefit from highly effective and well-trained staff."

• "A wide range of activities provide pupils with a broad set of experiences beyond the curriculum... [enabling pupils to] explore their talents and interests."
