Ofsted Report for Folkestone Academy
Folkestone Academy underwent an Ofsted inspection in May 2026.
The Academy was praised by Ofsted inspectors for its welcoming and inclusive ethos and the way that it offers a high-quality education for all its pupils.
Ofsted inspectors reported the school is working at a strong standard for inclusion and, in their report, they highlight the positive impact this is having on all pupils, including those with complex needs and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our “broad and ambitious curriculum” was by inspectors, noting that the “clearly ordered curriculum” gives pupils key knowledge in each subject.
The academy’s impressive extra-curricular offer was also noted, with inspectors highlighting the “broad set of experiences” offered beyond the classroom, such the Turner 25 enrichment programme which offers pupils the chance to take part in a wide range of activities. Pupils explore their talents and interests at photography, netball, cookery, dance and those who act as eco-ambassadors teach others to make positive choices about energy use and recycling.
