For admissions into Reception or Year 7 parents and carers are required to complete an application form known as the “Common Application Form” (CAF) through Kent County Council.  This can be found by clicking here for the Kent County Council ‘Applying for a School’ web page which also provides other key information on both primary and secondary school admissions.  Forms should be submitted in accordance with the LA’s published deadlines for applications.

In Year Admission – How to Apply

If you are looking for a place at the Academy because you have recently moved into the area, or your child is at another school and you feel that a change of school would benefit their education and/or general wellbeing, you are entitled to apply for a school place.    Please contact the Academy Admissions Officer to request an In-Year Admissions Form or download a copy (below).  This form must be completed and returned to the Academy Admissions Officer.

Sixth Form Admission

If you are considering joining Folkestone Academy Sixth Form and want to find out more, you may like to spend a morning or afternoon with us. You will be looked after by a Sixth Form student, often someone who has joined us in the Sixth Form, and you will have the opportunity to visit Year 12 lessons of your choice.

To arrange a visit, or find out more, phone Mrs Moore, Sixth Form Receptionist, on 01303 842400 (option 4).

How to Apply?

We offer a wide variety of subjects at Level 3 including GCE A levels, Level 3 BTECs and Level 3 Cambridge Technicals. Each course has different entry requirements which are featured on the course pages. Guidance over suitable levels of study for individual students will be given at your Sixth Form meeting. In addition to your chosen pathway all students are expected to attend their Guided Learning Sessions for three hours per week with their Sixth Form Tutor.

One final point to note is that the current minimum requirement for all students applying for entrance in 2019 is a Level 4 in GCSE English (Language or Literature) and a Level 4 in GCSE Mathematics. Students who do not achieve these grades but achieve the entrance requirements for their chosen Level 3 subjects will need to discuss this further at a meeting with the Sixth Form team.

Applications to the Folkestone Academy Sixth Form should normally be made by the Kent Choices:

Please see your schools careers advisor or your Connexions personal advisor if you are unsure as to how to apply via the online process. If you are unable to access a careers advisor or Connexions please call the Sixth Form Centre directly for advice on how to apply.
