Folkestone Academy Secondary Celebration – Workshop with Famous Dance Company

Secondary Celebration – Workshop with Famous Dance Company

News : 03 October 2019

Thirty one KS4 and KS5 students were offered the opportunity to take part in a 2 hour workshop with New Adventures Resident Artist Paul Smethurst and Associate choreographer Arielle Smith. The workshop was based on Sir Matthew Bourne’s Romeo and Juliet which the students were able to watch at The Marlowe Theatre after the workshop. The students were a credit to the Academy, all were inspired in some way, and our 6th formers sat near Matthew Bourne himself in the auditorium! A fantastic

experience for all the students with huge thanks to New Adventures and The Marlowe Theatre in selecting Folkestone Academy to enjoy working with professionals in the dance sector.
