Folkestone Academy Outcome of Consultation of De-Almagamation of Folkestone All Age Academy

Outcome of Consultation of De-Almagamation of Folkestone All Age Academy

News : 28 April 2020

De-amalgamation of Folkestone All-Age Academy

Outcome of Consultation Period:

We recently undertook a consultation to seek the views of the stakeholders of Folkestone Academy about separating the All Age Academy in to two separate entities, a primary school and a secondary school with Sixth Form. These would be known as Folkestone Primary and Folkestone Academy.

The consultation ended on 13 April and we have now consolidated the responses – please see below for the final report.

In summary, 79 responses were received of which 92% were in favour of the proposal.

The outcomes of this consultation have now been included within a Business Case which has been submitted to the Department for Education (DfE) for review and approval. Due to the current circumstances, we expect a decision by June/July 2020, for the change to take effect from the beginning of September 2020.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation process and we will appraise all stakeholders of the eventual decision as and when determined by the DfE.
