Folkestone Basketball Academy is an exciting initiative, brought to you through a three-way partnership involving Folkestone Academy, Shepway Sports Trust, and Folkestone Saints Basketball Club, in which young players and coaches are being given the opportunities and skills to progress to the highest possible level and to help participants develop a career within a competitive and fast-paced sports industry.
Shepway Sports Trust is a sports charity that receives core funding from the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust. The trust is implementing a sports strategy which aims to increase the number of people playing and coaching sport at all levels.
The practical elements of the Basketball Academy will be delivered by the Head Coach of Folkestone Saints Basketball Club, Mark Hinton. The educational aspects will be held at Folkestone Academy’s Sixth Form.
