Curriculum

Our broad curriculum allows students to pursue a wide-range of academic and vocational subjects at Level Three (GCE A levels and BTEC / OCR). These are structured into guided pathways (academic / humanities, healthcare, creative, science etc) so that students are well prepared for making decisions around further study, apprenticeships and employment. In any given year we may offer up to thirty different subjects, including the opportunity to re-sit Level Two English or Maths for a small number of students. All lessons are taught by specialist teachers and class sizes reflect the are small.

The curriculum is regularly reviewed to ensure that opportunities for success are maximised, through careful sequencing of modules, mock examinations and end of year exams. A strategic approach supports all of our actions.

Students are able to access a programme of study that enriches them as individuals, such as work experience, joining the Prefect board, student council, Extended Project Qualification, Duke of Edinburgh / CCF, subject leaders, football and basketball academy and even cookery skills.
