Dear Parents, Carers and Children of Year 6,
We hope that the information contained in this PowerPoint is useful for you in supporting your child while learning at home. On the following slides you will find some suggested websites and activities which will hopefully give ideas that everyone will find both useful and accessible. Your child will also already have (or shortly receive) a pack of photocopied activities which can be used as you feel is appropriate.
Over the coming days we will be in touch about teacher-led learning activities using Google Meet and Google Classroom. We hope that these methods of delivery will enable us to keep in more direct contact with our pupils, and provide group as well as individual support with learning. Please bear with us as we get to grips with these new methods of teaching –we’re bound to experience a few technical challenges to begin with!
This is, of course, an unsettling time for all of us, and in particular our children. We are going to miss them greatly and feel as sad as you do that their final year at primary school has been abruptly interrupted in this way. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions at all, and let us know if there is anything else we can do to help your child. Please encourage your children to keep in touch with us too, not only about school work –we love hearing their general chitchat and news as well! They are welcome to send us messages via their Google account (if you haven’t yet received details about this, you will do through the post soon!) or to use our email addresses (see below). We would like to thank you for your understanding through this uncertain time.
With our best wishes,
