Celebrity Beauty Expert Opens New Dedicated Beauty Room

‘The Zone’ Hair and Beauty department at The Folkestone Academy welcomed celebrity Beauty Therapist and Tanning expert, Michaella Bolder, to officially open the new dedicated Beauty Room.  The expansion of the new room is to accommodate teaching for an increase in the number of students wanting to pursue a career in hairdressing and beauty therapy as well as allowing for additional specialised beauty techniques, such as spray tanning, Spa treatments, facial and body electrical treatments and massage. With 6 treatment couches and 6 manicure stations this will enable students to treat members of the public privately and in luxurious surroundings.

Miss Bolder studied at Thanet College in Broadstairs. Once completing her beauty training she started working in various saloons to gain experience and learn new techniques.  After few years, having built up a large client base she was given opportunities to work on a number of world famous TV shows including X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and Stepping Out, along with Fashion Weeks in London and Paris.  Her main roles in the beauty industry include Facial and Skin Care Expert working alongside L'Oreal Paris, Tanning and Skin Finishing Artist for St Tropez (the UK leading Tanning brand) and a range of body treatments including Lymphatic Drainage and Sports Massage.

Once completing the grand opening, Miss Bolder comments: “This beauty soon is such an inspirational place, every school and college should be the same.  It’s fantastic to see so many opportunities available to the students.  Having spoken to some of the students it’s clear they are a hardworking and focused group of girls and I’m sure they will achieve many great things.”

Ms Amanda Gillett, Head of Hair and Beauty at The Folkestone Academy, comments: “It was an absolute pleasure meeting Michaella, she is such a positive role model for our students.  It’s very clear that she works very hard and is so passionate and that came across when speaking to our students.  They were completely in awe of her!  I’m now looking forward to seeing the beauty room come to life with students developing professional skills they will use in the future.”
