It can be difficult to decide what you want to do when you leave school if you haven’t had much experience of the different types of work that are out there. How can you know if you’d enjoy working in an office if you’ve never set foot in one, or if you’d like to work as an accountant when you have no idea what an accountant does?
Work experience is a great way to gain experience in and understanding of different work environments and careers. It allows you the opportunity to meet people who do the job you are considering, and to get an idea of what a day in the life of that person is like.
If you are a student in years 10 onwards then you are able to request work experience at any time by getting in contact with Mrs Tibbles via your Head of House. Heads of House can then find the most suitable time for work experience to take place, whilst Mrs Tibbles can help to either find you a work placement or arrange a placement with a pre-agreed business.
We have been fortunate to have been given great work experience opportunities over the last year.
