Key Stage 3 Food Technology
Food Technology forms part of a carousel of units taught during Key Stage 3. The learning for the academic year focuses on culinary skills and an understanding of food groups and their nutritional value in a healthy diet. At the end of each unit students are assessed on their practical skills and on their general understanding of the unit content.
At the end of this Food Technology unit students will:
· learn about the importance of a balanced diet
· use a range of cooking utensils and kitchen equipment
· prepare and produce a range of healthy dishes
· work safely and address risk, identifying and controlling any hazards/risks to themselves and others
