Academic Review Day
As well as having the usual Parents' Consultation Evening once a year where there is an opportunity to discuss your child's work with all their subject teachers, there are three extra days in the year where you and your child can discuss their progress with their individual form tutor. Each student will be allocated a 30 minute appointment during the day in which he or she, with their parent or parents, will be mentored by their tutor. The mentoring session is not intended to be one way discussion. The tutor will be able to give information regarding the pupil's progress so far, the level of effort in each subject, previous assessment data and an ability profile.
With the Lower Sixth and Years 12 and 13 there will be the opportunity to discuss more specific issues. Lessons do not run during academic review days, however, students are expected to come in to meet their tutor at the appointment time given. The aim of these days is to find out how students are progressing as well as setting targets to ensure they achieve the best results possible.
