Message from the Parent Trustee
My name is Louise Warburton and I am the Parent Trustee of the all age Folkestone Academy. Part of my role is to gather the views, thoughts and ideas that parents have about the Academy and school life and share this with the Board of Trustees and the Academy Management at both phases. I gather this information from parents by holding regular Parent Voice meetings, these are informal meetings for parents and guardians to come along and chat with myself and each other on all aspects of the all age academy.
The next Parent Voice meeting will be held on Thursday 26th March 2015 at 6pm (please meet at Folkestone Academy Secondary Reception). If you have any questions or would like to know more about Parent Voice, my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org (please state Parent Voice in the subject line of the email).

Ofsted Parent View
Ofsted launched Parent View, an online questionnaire that allows parents and carers to give their views on their child’s school at any time of the year in October 2011.
Ofsted confirm that this 12-question survey covers over 22,000 schools across England and is designed to help other parents as they make important choices about their child’s education and also provides Ofsted with information about schools that will help inform priorities for inspection.
“Parent View has been produced with the assistance of a panel of parents who contributed to shaping the questions and the way the site functions. The questionnaire covers a range of topics, including quality of teaching, bullying, behaviour and levels of homework, allowing parents to give a view about their child’s school on each issue, with a final question as to whether or not they would recommend the school to other parents. The questionnaire does not allow free text comments but invites responses to a series of closed questions.”
The Ofsted Parent View website with further instructions on how to complete the survey is available at www.parentview.ofsted.gov.uk
